Trump ordena a la Guardia Nacional que se retire de Washington por la presencia de "muchos menos manifestantes de los esperados"
“Acabo de dar una orden a nuestra Guardia Nacional para iniciar el proceso de retirada de Washington D.C. ahora que todo está bajo perfecto control”, ha hecho saber el presidente en su cuenta de Twitter.
El presidente ha avisado de que los guardias “regresarán a casa, pero pueden volver (a Washington D.C. rápidamente, si es necesario”, ha avisado antes de valorar a la baja el número de asistentes a las manifetaciones. ”¡Anoche se presentaron muchos menos manifestantes de lo previsto!”, ha proclamado.
El presidente también ha repudiado los planes de reforma policial que el candidato a la Presidencia por el partido Demócrata, Joe Biden, y la bancada afromericana de la formación quieren plantear a partir de la próxima semana para impedir que se repita una muerte como la de Floyd, asfixiado por el entonces agente de Policía Derek Chauvin, que ha sido imputado por asesinato en segundo grado por aplastar con la rodilla el cuello de la víctima durante casi nueve minutos.
“El ‘dormilón’ de Joe Biden y la ‘Izquierda Demócrata Radical’ quieren retirar los fondos a la Policía. Yo quiero una Policía bien pagada. ¡Quiero ley y orden!”, ha concluido.
El partido Demócrata ha aclarado que esos planes no suponen una retirada de fondos sino una reestructuración de los mismos para mejorar las tácticas de detención y reducir el armamento militar del que disponen las fuerzas de seguridad norteamericanas.
